GENESIS X3 Press Pass APPLICATION INFORMATION

Genesis welcomes members of the press who wish to provide editorial coverage of our premier tournament series. We are pleased to offer a complimentary Press Pass to professional and student journalists from active and legitimate media outlets who are interested in capturing the energy and competition of Genesis.

  • The Genesis X3 Press Pass will grant access to the tournament venue at the San Jose Convention Center for February 13-15, 2026 including access to the Sunday Top 8 finals. Top 8 Finals will take place in the Convention Hall instead of the SJ Civic.

  • The Genesis X3 Press Pass is for active editorial journalists only. Content creators, influencers, or individuals who intend to create content at Genesis X3 for social media should instead apply for a Creator Pass instead.

  • General and cosplay photographers/videographers are not eligible for a Press Pass, and instead require only a Spectator Pass.

  • Applications will be reviewed and processed on a rolling basis until February 8th.

PRESS RULES

We ask you to please consider these rules as you attend the event, and attempt to downscale the equipment you will be bringing to a strict must have list. If you are unable to downsize, or are required to bring equipment that may be prohibited, please contact us.

In addition to the Attendee Agreement, all Press Pass recipients are expected to abide by the following rules and restrictions:

  • Stage access will not be permitted to minimize any disruption of the tournament. Press may be permitted to take photos or video in the area near the front of the stage if they are not blocking the audience's view or until asked to move by Genesis Staff. If you have any special requests about backstage access please reach out to us.

  • The San Jose Convention Center restricts equipment inside the venue under their "Professional Broadcast" policy. This means certain video equipment will be prohibited at Genesis X2, including:

    • Boom microphones

    • Professional sound mixers

    • Cameras mounted over-the-shoulder

    • Tripods

    • Large, two-handed gimbals

    • Lighting equipment

  • DSLR's with attached LED lighting, lavalier microphones, handheld audio recorders, zoom lenses, small one-handed gimbals, and other handheld accessories, may be permitted.
